Thanks to Mark Burgin and the Portland Old-Time Gathering, you can see our January 17 show on YouTube. Yo, check it out!
October means it’ll soon be time for the Goleta Old-Time Fiddlers’ Convention and Festival, always a great time with lots of jamming, great performances and of course the annual instrumental and singing contest. The festival is Sunday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sausage Grinder will be playing from 11 a.m. to noon on the main stage, and Chris and David will be teaching banjo and fiddle workshops (times to be announced).
Other acts include Rafe & Clelia Stefanini, Hay Dudes with Dennis Caplinger, The Brothers Comatose and more. For more info on the festival visit their website.
Hope to see you on the 13th!
We had a blast last Saturday at the Santa Monica History Museum playing a concert for Folkworks (thanks Leda and Steve!) to a sold-out crowd.
Check out this great review by Jonathan Shifflett on the Folkworks site! And here’s a video from the concert, too — you can find more on YouTube and we’ll share more here soon!
Sausage Grinder has a new line-up, new material, and new antics!! Come join us for an intimate concert with your favorite sausages on Saturday, September 7th in Santa Monica!!
FolkWorks is presenting us at the Santa Monica History Museum — tickets are $15 ($13 for FolkWorks members) — see ticket ordering information below. Show starts at 8 p.m., doors open at 7 for refreshments and docent-led tours of the museum.
Come join us for a great evening!!
Sausage Grinder will be playing a rare morning show at California Traditional Music Society’s Equinox Festival in Northridge a week from today, Sunday, September 12. We go on at 10:20 a.m., so we’ll be waking ourselves and our audience up with some peppy tunes.
Chris will be teaching an intermediate banjo workshop (probably on two-finger picking) at 11:45 a.m., and David will teach intermediate old-time fiddle at 2:15 p.m.
There will be lots of good music at the fest besides Sausage Grinder — the Foghorn Duo, Tom and Patrick Sauber, and our old-time pals Triple Chicken Foot will play, plus there are a lot more workshops to choose from, and plenty of jamming.
Come by, listen, play a tune, and don’t forget to buy a copy of our CD.
